Chethan Gangatkar son of K.R. Ranganath and Smt. Leelavathi nurtured interest in classical dance for his childhood. His dream turned in to reality when he started learning Bharatanatyam under guru. Dr. Sanjay Shantaram and Smt Shama Sanjay and later started learning Kuchipudi under the guidance of guru Smt. Veena Murthy Vijay and believes that learning process should never stop.

His serious interest for the art-from has been showered with the right amount of nourishment and there by choosing this divine platform as his profession by persuing his graduation in choreography from the Natya Institute Of  Kathak and Choreography headed by guru Dr. Maya Rao. During his graduation at the Natya Institute he was exposed to various dance forms such as kathak ,yakshagana and martial art forms like Tang-Ta brought a sprightly effervescence to his talent. He has choreographed mythological, sanskrit, historical and contemporary ballets during his graduation and won the hearts of the kala rasikas.

Chethan at a young age was successful in completing his rangaprevesha in bharatanatyam on April 29th 2005 and gained appreciation by the press and audience.
